4 *Easy* Steps to Recover Your SSS Password (& User ID)

Recover your forgotten SSS account user id and password with this 4 simple steps. Easy step-by-step guide with image.

In this article, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process (with an image) on how you can recover your forgotten password and user ID of your SSS account.

There are four (4) steps to follow. But first, you need to check if the SSS member login portal is online. If it is, then just follow the steps below.

NOTE: This process requires that you know the email address you used when you registered and created a My.SSS account.

The last part of this article will guide you on what to do instead if you forgot your registered email or you can’t answer the security questions.

SSS Password recovery using My.SSS portal

Step 1: Access the My.SSS website

The first step is to visit the members’ online portal. Click Forgot User ID or Password button which is below the captcha box.

Member’s Online My.SSS Portal

After you clicked the Forgot User ID or Password button, you should see the following page:

You can choose to recover your SSS password either using your registered email or answering the security questions.

Step 2: Provide your CRN or SS Number

After entering your registered email address, you will then be asked to enter your CRN or SSS number.

CRN stands for Common Reference Number. If you have your Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) already, you can find your CRN just above your ID photo.

If you don’t have your UMID yet, then you can use your SSS number instead.

Step 3: Check your email

Check your email for a password reset link. It shouldn’t take long for you to get it. If it’s not in your primary inbox, check the spam folder instead.

If you still haven’t received it, then you probably are checking the wrong email. 🙂

Step 4: Enter your new password

After clicking the password reset link, you’ll be directed to a page showing your user ID. Input as well your new My.SSS account password.

The new password must meet the following guidelines:

  • Must be 8-20 alphanumeric characters.
  • The first character must be alphabetic.
  • No special characters like underscore, comma, asterisk, etc.
  • Must be different from your user ID.

Once done putting a new password, click Submit.

You should receive an email confirming that you’ve successfully reset your password.

Forgotten your registered email?

If for some reason you forgot the email you used or you’re unable to access the email you used to register on the SSS member’s portal, then you still have three (3) options.

Option 1: Go to the nearest SSS office.

Going to the nearest SSS branch is, in our experience, the best and most effective way to recover your online account.

Option 2: Send an email

We don’t know if the SSS office that handles email requests is understaffed or not but based on our experience, their email service isn’t efficient at all. Sometimes, it takes weeks before they reply. We get the same feedback from others, too.

If you want to go with this option, prepare the following details:

  • Details of your concern, which is a forgotten account password and user ID.
  • Complete name
  • SSS number
  • Scanned copy of your UMID card

Option 3: Call the SSS Hotline number

1455

Available 24 hours from Monday to Friday (except holidays). Prepare your SSS number.
