The Aboitiz Foundation has not yet announced the opening of the Aboitiz College Scholarship Program (ACSP) for the Academic Year 2024–2025.

The Foundation has been investing heavily to provide access to quality education in the Philippines as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR).

A significant portion of their CSR budget is dedicated to educational initiatives to deliver on their promise of a better learning environment for our communities.

Every year, the Aboitiz College Scholarship Program (ACSP) is looking for incoming 1st-year students who plan to pursue an undergraduate degree full-time.

Last year, the Foundation’s priority courses were related to data science and digital transformation, engineering, information technology, sales, marketing, e-commerce, agriculture, and nutrition.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the Aboitiz Scholarship program, the candidate must:

  • Be a full-time incoming freshman student in a recognized private or public university or college in the Philippines.
  • Pursuing a degree identified by the Foundation.
  • Have a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 88% or its equivalent.
  • Not have a failing grade or incomplete grade.
  • Not have any record of any form of disciplinary action.
  • Completed the online application form and submitted the requirements on time.

The scholarship can be renewed every semester as long as the student maintains the GPA requirement (or its equivalent) and progresses normally.

Requirements

Incomplete application requirements will NOT be considered. Documents submitted to the Foundation will NOT be returned to the applicants.

  1. Completed (online) application form.
  2. 2×2 colored photo.
  3. A certified true copy of your complete senior-high-school report card.
  4. Certification from the principal or registrar showing your final average grade. It should include the GPA/GWA percentage equivalent.
  5. Certification/s supporting leadership experience,[1] awards received, and community involvement[2].
  6. Two (2) letters of recommendation (one academic & one non-academic).

Footnotes

  1. For the leadership experience, the Committee will only accept certifications signed by the Student Affairs Office or the organization’s adviser(s) stating the position(s) held by the applicant and the inclusive years.
  2. IDs, programs, medals, trophies, or pictures of the award are not accepted. Please provide a written certification signed by an authorized person, either from the academe or from the award-giving body.

Prepare as well a personal essay as to why you deserve to be awarded the scholarship.

Candidates are also asked to provide information about the evaluator of their choice. You will be sent a link for the recommendation form. Your evaluator’s recommendation letter is very important. Give the following questions for them to use as their guides:

  • How long have you known the applicant and in what connection?
  • What do you consider the applicant’s talents or strengths?
  • What do you consider as the applicant’s areas for improvement?
  • Why would you endorse the applicant for the ACSP?
  • Any additional info that would help the Scholarship Selection Committee.

Academe evaluator

The academe evaluator can be any of the following:

  • Class Adviser
  • School Guidance Counselor or Student Affairs Officer
  • School Principal
  • Adviser of a school-based organization where you are a member of
  • Teacher of the applicant in at least one subject

None-academe evaluator

The none-academe evaluator can be anyone from the community who can vouch for your potential and ability, like:

  • Parish Priest
  • Barangay Captain
  • Barangay Councilor
  • Employee

Selection process

All applications will be accepted by ACSP’s Scholarship Selection Committee and evaluated by Corporate HR.

All applications are assessed by the following criteria:

  • academic performance
  • leadership ability
  • awards received
  • community involvement
  • recommendations
  • personal essay

Only the top 60 applicants will proceed to the initial interview round. After the initial interview, the top 30 applicants will proceed to the last phase which is the panel interview.

Aboitiz Scholarship benefits

Financial support from the Aboitiz Scholarship Program covers full tuition fees, book requirements, transportation needs, and other expenses.

Scholars also get a monthly allowance and board review fees for degrees that require a board exam after graduation. Plus a possible employment opportunity within the Aboitiz Group.

How to apply

Note: You should fully disclose during the application all active or pending scholarships you have. Aboitiz Foundation will not allow you to have two or more scholarships either from within the group or external except for Academic Scholarships offered by the school where you are enrolled.
